About Our Community
Hallowell is a vibrant residential community located in Olney, Maryland, consisting of 292 townhomes and 356 single-family homes. Residents enjoy a beautiful neighborhood designed with open space, scenic walking paths, and thoughtfully maintained amenities that bring neighbors together.
Our community includes two ponds, landscaped walking trails, tot lots, tennis and pickleball courts, and a community swimming pool. Hallowell is also conveniently located next to Southeast Olney Park, which offers additional recreation including a large playground, picnic gazebo, basketball courts, and sports fields.
Hallowell combines natural beauty, recreational amenities, and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere that residents are proud to call home.
Community Amenities
Swimming Pool
The Hallowell community swimming pool is located at 17721 Prince Philip Drive and is open during the summer season. The pool provides a gathering place for residents to relax, swim, and spend time with neighbors.
Walking Paths
Paths are open daily and close at dusk.
Pond and Gazebo
The community pond serves as part of the neighborhood’s stormwater management system and is also a beautiful natural feature surrounded by trees and walking paths. Residents often enjoy watching the wildlife attracted to the water.
Fishing is not permitted in the pond.
Nearby, the gazebo offers a peaceful place to relax while enjoying scenic views of the pond and surrounding landscape.
The pond area and walking paths close at dusk. Residents are asked to help keep these areas clean by taking all trash with them when leaving.
Tennis and Pickleball Courts
Residents and their guests may use the courts according to the posted rules of play.
Courts are open daily and close at dusk. Animals, except for service animals, are not permitted inside the fenced court area.
Playgrounds
Four playgrounds are located throughout the community:
• Inside the pool gate (seasonal)
• Behind St. Augustine Court
• Midway along Queensborough Drive
• Behind St. Florence Terrace
All playground areas close at dusk.
